Michael Fielding
Only Candidate
in District
"F" to Discloses Campaign Finances
There are four candidates running for
the District "F" (South Lawrence East)
City Council seat.
Of the four, only
challenger Michael Fielding disclosed his
campaign financial activity by the September 15,
2003 deadline.
Marie Gosselin,
having run four previous successful campaigns for
the City Council refused to disclose her campaign
finances by the filing date.
Challenger James
Stokes has run several campaigns for District
"F" (unsuccessfully) and is fully aware
of the filing requirements yet, neglected to
fulfill his legal obligation by not disclosing
his finances. Newcomer Danny Valcourt also did
not disclose his campaign finances. Here
is a look at Mr. Fielding's fund raising
activity.
Donation
List as Submitted by Mike Fielding

Unlike
some of the newcomers, Fielding fulfilled the
legal requirements of his campaign finances by
listing the full addresses and occupations of all
donors who contributed over $50.00 to his campaign.
With the
exception of one out of town purchase (there were
no out of state purchases) $6,014.25 of the $7,825.25 spent, went to Lawrence
businesses.
A purchase
of signs and campaign bumpers stickers totaling $1,811.25 was made at Simard Printing in
Woburn, a favorite of state office holders.
(Willie Lantigua is running the fielding
campaign). Incidentally, that exact same amount
was donated by Fielding himself to the campagin.
Fielding
has a balance of $1,561.00 in his campaign account.
Fielding is expected to show an easy win on
Tuesday and will need that leftover cash heading
towards the November final where he is expected
to take on incumbent Marie Gosselin (who did not
disclose her finances).
