Of Emails, Denials and Accusations
Lawrence High Teacher Denies, then admits He sent
Email encouraging students to Skip School

Four days ago, www.valleypatriot.com posted a story about Lawrence High school teacher Pedro Payano sending out an email to the community whereby, he specifically encourages students to skip school to support the May 1^st rally in support of illegal aliens.

So, it was no surprise that on Wednesday, 96.9 FM talk host Michael Graham spent the entire four hours of his radio program talking about Payano’s email, public school teachers who are out of control and the issue of illegal aliens s demanding rights in this country.

Graham said he was outraged that a public school teacher would be encouraging students to skip school for any reason, much less to support illegal aliens and their demands for citizenship in this country. Most of the callers agreed, ridiculing Lawrence, some even using the opportunity to bash Superintendent Wilfredo Laboy recounting Laboy’s previous bad publicity.

Wilfredo Laboy could not be reached for comment, an email was sent to Laboy on Monday asking if he planned on reprimanding Payano for encouraging kids to skip school. Laboy did not answer the email but sources in the school system said Payano most likely would not be reprimanded for the email.

Apparently, Payano knows this because this morning he appeared on Spanish language radio (1110AM) ranting in Spanish, that “Tom Duggan” was “fabricating the email” and “lying through his teeth” adding that “Tom Duggan is an enemy to the Latino People.”

Payano started off the show by saying he never sent the email and was adamant about that point until he was confronted by a caller live on the air, that’s when the social studies teacher from Lawrence High changed his tune admitting that he sent the email but that the report on the web site was “a lie.”

“I never sent the emails to students, that is a lie…” Payano said graspuing at straws, answering a charge that was never made.

Adrienna Recchia of SILGO21 also joined in the Duggan bashing this morning trying to discredit reports of the email, crying racism and wondering out loud “Who could have sent Duggan the email?”
